IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON INSURANCE

This is to clarify the type of insurance cover that SRA provides for you in relation to the Public Liability Policy.

The insurance premiums that we have to pay have been raised by the Skier, Driver, Observers and Boat memberships. SRA devised this method of raising the needed monies so as to try and spread the costs as fairly as we could.

However, because there is a “boat” component, it is possible for members to believe that the Public Liability risks relating to members boats are covered. The intent of the policy is to protect members from law suits that would or could emanate from accidents or injuries to people, not to any other vessels, or your own vessel that may be damaged. It actually does cover the latter, but the excess is prohibitive and would be more that most claims. It has been designed for personal injuries and or any major catastrophes that may occur where the pay outs could be in the hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars. (Like crashing into a crowd)

It is possible to buy your own comprehensive insurances which will cover your boat and any other boat that may be involved in an accident. If you have this type of cover (that you would have obtained outside of SRA), you will note that the Public Liability component of such a policy will stand aside under race conditions and the SRA policy will respond. Your property cover would remain intact. This is what happens in the main and if you are covered with Club Marine. Other companies may be the same, but you need to ask the questions when you negotiate your own comprehensive policy.

The first file, allows you to enter information direct on the membership form for printing. This is done in the attempt to make it easier for you to fill in and easier for us to read. 
If you want to do this the manual way then just print the form out and send in as normal.
The second file is a survey to assist SRA know more about you, our competitor.

Updates are

* Australian Titles confirmed as Monday January 19th to Thursday January 22nd hosted by Ski Racing Victoria at Lake Charm
* Victoria, there has been a change to point score dates  with January race deleted and PS # 6 added to April,
Tasman Challenge date changed also.
* Please note the venue for selection race for 14/15 Feb 2009 has not been finalized as yet, SRA is investigating Canberra, Jindabyne and Botany Bay.  However it is safe to say the date is at this stage locked in.
